How To Clean Cds And Dvds
When your CDs or DVDs get dusty, they should be gently wiped clean with lint-free cloth, but never follow the grooves when wiping. Use a center to outside edge movement. Always hold them by placing your thumb in the center hole and your fingers on the outside rim.

The shiny surface of your CDs or DVDs should never be touched. CDs and DVDs are delicate and should always be treated with care. If you notice a scratch the first thing to do is make a back-up copy. Do this before you try out those polishes that claim to repair scratched DVD surfaces.

To clean grease or anything sticky from the surface, use a weak solution of baby shampoo and warm water to dampen a clean cloth and wipe over the surface gently. Make sure it

is entirely dry before replacing in its case.

To remove finger marks, use purchased Mineral water rather than tap water, which has a higher concentration of salts in it. This can mark the surface with a white deposit. A cloth dipped in other cleaning agents such as Isopropyl Alcohol/Ethanol/Methanol can also be used for finger marks, but never use Acetate-based products or you will damage it beyond redemption.
