Because it thins the blood, it should notbe used in conjunction with any blood thinners or blood pressurelowering drugs. Beyond a few cases negative reactions, such asincreased rate of lithium toxicity, Naproxen has been enjoyedwidespread use without many visible problem. However, in December of 2004 the FDA issued a press releasedescribing a National Institutes of Health survey. The five-yearstudy, in which Alzheimer’s Disease patients were administeredhigh dosages of Naproxen, had to be halted early because earlyin the trial 50% of the patients had suffered heart attacks andstrokes. As a result, the FDA advised patients taking Aleve tofollow the instructions carefully, avoid exceeding recommendeddoses, and to stop using the medication
after 10 days.
