Inreality, they are expensive drugs that for most people provideno better treatment than older, less expensive medications. Farfrom having no side effects, these drugs share many of the sameside effects of older NSAID medications. Despite claims to thecontrary, new research has shown that patients who use thesedrugs are at risk of Vioxx heart attacks, problems, liverdamage, kidney damage, stomach ulcers, and other seriouscomplications. == What has been done so far with regard to Vioxxheart attack and Celebrex litigation? == One class action suithas already been filed. Although the two medications are slightlydifferent in their chemical composition, Vioxx and Celebrex areboth classified as COX-2 inhibitors and belong to a larger groupof drugs knows as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, orNSAIDs. Other NSAIDs include older medications like ibuprofenand naproxen. Serious problems, like Vioxx Heart Attacks, have been associatedwith the long-term use of NSAIDs. Problems include bleedingstomach ulcers, intestinal bleeding, Vioxx heart attackproblems, and damage to the liver and kidneys. Thesecomplications can occur with or without warning symptoms.
